Good to know

End of Windows 10 support

Microsoft ended regular support for Windows 10 on 14/10/2025. Extended Security Updates (ESU) for home users only run until 13/10/2026. After that, a Windows 10 computer gets no security fixes at all. If your hardware can handle Windows 11, we recommend upgrading.

Can my computer run Windows 11?

Windows 11 requires a processor from the supported list (roughly 8th-generation Intel and AMD Ryzen 2000 or newer), 4 GB of memory, 64 GB of storage, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. You can check this with the PC Health Check app. Often it's enough just to enable TPM and Secure Boot in the BIOS settings – we'll take care of that during the installation.

What the installation involves

We back up your documents, photos, desktop and other data. We install a clean copy of Windows with the latest drivers and updates. Then we restore your data and set up essential programs such as a web browser and PDF reader. Your Windows licence activates automatically after installation, as it's tied to your computer's hardware.

Watch out for BitLocker

On many new computers, the drive is encrypted with BitLocker. Without the recovery key, nobody can access the data – not even a repair service. You'll find the key in your Microsoft account at aka.ms/myrecoverykey. Before sending us your computer, make sure you have it.

FAQ

Your questions answered

Will I lose my data?

No, as long as the condition of the drive allows it. We back up your data before the installation and restore it afterwards. You'll then need to reinstall your programs, so have your login details and licence keys ready.

Can't I just reset my computer from within Windows?

The Reset this PC feature sometimes helps. But if the system is damaged or infected, a clean install from fresh installation media is more reliable.

Do I need a new Windows licence?

Usually not. Digital licences for both Windows 10 and 11 are tied to the hardware. Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is free.

Is it worth replacing the drive with an SSD at the same time?

If your computer has a traditional hard drive, definitely. Installing onto a new SSD takes little extra work and your computer will be much faster.

Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?

Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.

How much does diagnostics cost?

If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
