Don't put off the repair
Once the hinges loosen, the lid is put under more and more strain every time you open it. A loose hinge will soon break off completely and can damage the display, the screen cable or the surrounding casing, making the repair more expensive. That's why it's best to come in as soon as you feel any play.
How we repair hinges
Often the hinges themselves are fine and have simply broken out of the plastic casing. In that case, we restore the mounting with a high-quality two-component adhesive and reinforce it. On more fragile designs, we replace the lid casing, and we always replace broken hinges in pairs.
Is it worth it?
Almost always. A hinge repair costs a fraction of the price of a new laptop and prevents a more expensive display replacement. We'll confirm the exact price after inspecting the laptop, and we never carry out any repair without your approval.

Your questions answered
Can I keep using my laptop until the repair?
You can, but open it carefully and hold the lid by both corners. Every time you open it, the loose hinge is put under further strain and the display could get damaged.
Do you replace just one hinge?
If a hinge is broken, we replace both so the lid is held evenly. If the hinge has only broken out of the casing, restoring its mounting is enough.
Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?
Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.
How much does diagnostics cost?
If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
