Good to know

Try an external keyboard first

Connect a USB keyboard to your laptop. If it works and the built-in one doesn't, the fault lies in the keyboard or its cable. If the external one doesn't work either, the problem is more likely in the system or on the motherboard.

Liquid spill or wear and tear?

If the keyboard stopped working after a spill, send us the laptop as soon as possible – saving the motherboard comes first, the keyboard second. We describe the process on our spilled keyboard repair page. A worn or physically damaged keyboard is simply replaced.

Keyboard riveted to the top case

On many laptops, the keyboard is riveted from behind to the top part of the chassis (top case). In that case, either the whole top case is replaced, or we carefully remove the old keyboard and secure the new one with screws. You can see the price for your model below, and we'll choose the approach that keeps the repair as affordable as possible.

Czech or US layout

For most models, we supply a keyboard with Czech key labels. Some replacement parts are only available in the US or UK layout – the main differences are the Enter key and the labels. We'll always tell you in advance which keyboard you'll get.

Your questions answered

Can you replace just one key?

Sometimes, if the mechanism under the key is intact. Replacement keys are hard to source, though, so replacing the whole keyboard usually works out better.

Do you repair MacBook keyboards?

Yes. On MacBooks the keyboard is part of the top case together with the battery, which makes the repair more complex. We'll confirm the price for your model upfront.

Will I lose my data?

No, replacing the keyboard doesn't touch your drive.

My keyboard only fails now and then. Is it faulty?

It could be a loose cable, a driver or an early-stage fault. Try updating your system and drivers. If the problem persists, we'll find the cause during diagnostics.

Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?

Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.

How much does diagnostics cost?

If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
