Good to know
What you should know about Canon repairs
What the error codes mean
Code 1700 warns that the ink absorber is almost full – you can keep printing, but servicing will be needed soon. Code 5B00 means the absorber is full and the printer will stop printing. Code B200 is an internal error: switch the printer off and unplug it. It's usually caused by the print head or its power supply.
MegaTank and the maintenance cartridge
Newer Canon MegaTank ink tank printers (G series) have a replaceable maintenance cartridge that you can swap yourself. Older models and standard PIXMA printers have the absorber inside the printer – we'll clean or replace it and reset the counter.
Print head in the cartridge or built in
Cheaper PIXMA models have the print head built into the cartridge, so if they print streaks, a new cartridge often does the trick. MegaTank and MAXIFY printers have a separate print head, which we clean or replace.
Is a repair worth it?
For MegaTank, MAXIFY and higher-end PIXMA printers, usually yes. With the cheapest models, we'll tell you honestly whether a repair is worth it compared with buying a new printer.

FAQ
Your questions answered
My printer shows error 5B00. Can it be repaired?
Yes. We'll clean or replace the absorber and reset the counter, and your printer will be back to printing.
Do you repair Canon i-SENSYS laser printers?
Yes – most often the paper feed, fuser unit or roller. Describe the fault in your order.
Is it enough just to reset the counter?
We don't recommend it – a full absorber can overflow. We always clean it first.
How long does a repair take?
Usually 1–4 working days, depending on the fault.
Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?
Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.
How much does diagnostics cost?
If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
