What you should know about Epson repairs
Ink pad at end of service life
Older Epson printers and some EcoTank models collect waste ink in pads inside the printer. When the printer reports that the pads have reached the end of their service life, it stops printing and you can’t fix it yourself. We clean or replace the pads and reset the counter. Newer EcoTanks have a replaceable maintenance box instead, which you can swap yourself.
Dried-up EcoTank print head
On Epson printers, the print head is a fixed part of the printer – it isn’t replaced along with the ink. If the printer goes unused for a long time, the nozzles dry out. Running cleaning cycles from the menu again and again fills up the waste ink pads, so after a few unsuccessful attempts it’s worth having the print head cleaned professionally.
Epson projectors
Depending on the model, Epson lamp projectors last around 2,000 to 4,000 hours in normal mode and longer in ECO mode. Laser models last up to 20,000 hours. You’ll find the lamp hours in the projector’s menu under the information section. On 3LCD projectors, heat can damage the polarising filters – this shows up as spots on the image.
Non-original ink and warranty
The Epson warranty doesn’t cover faults caused by non-original consumables. That said, good-quality compatible ink usually works without any problems. Above all, don’t mix different inks in one tank.

Your questions answered
Is it enough just to reset the ink pad counter?
No. Without cleaning, ink could overflow into the printer. We always clean the pads first and only then reset the counter.
Do you repair Epson laser projectors?
Yes – we clean the optics and filters and carry out diagnostics. Laser models don’t have a lamp.
Is an EcoTank worth repairing?
Usually, yes – EcoTanks are pricier printers and a repair costs a fraction of a new one.
How long does a repair take?
Usually 2–4 working days, as a dried-up print head is cleaned gradually.
Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?
Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.
How much does diagnostics cost?
If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
