What you should know about HP repairs
HP laptops: hinges and heat
On the consumer Pavilion and Pavilion x360 ranges, the hinges often work loose and the lid starts to come away from the display. The Victus and Omen gaming laptops tend to clog up with dust in the cooling system, so the laptop gets noisy and loses performance in games. We fix both: the hinges and their mountings, cleaning the cooling system and applying fresh thermal paste.
Diagnostics and battery care
HP has built-in hardware diagnostics: after switching on, press Esc and then F2. In the BIOS settings (F10) you'll find Battery Health Manager – the option for maximum battery lifespan limits charging to 80%. If you own an HP business laptop, check on the HP website whether your battery is covered by a recall programme.
New laptop names
Since 2024, HP has been phasing out the Pavilion, Envy and Spectre names and now sells new laptops as OmniBook (home), EliteBook (business) and Omen (gaming). Older Pavilion and Envy models will stay in use for years to come, though, and we'll keep repairing them.
HP printers and original cartridges
Printers with the HP+ service require an internet connection, an HP account and original cartridges only for their entire lifetime – the service can't be switched off once activated. On many models, HP firmware also blocks third-party chips. If your printer rejects a cartridge, it isn't a fault but the manufacturer's intention. On Smart Tank and inkjet models, we clean dried-up print heads and waste ink tanks.

- 2If your laptop has a BIOS password, let us know what it is or disable it.
- 3For printers, remove the paper, and keep tank models upright during transport so the ink doesn't leak.

Your questions answered
Do you also repair business EliteBooks and ProBooks?
Yes. If your laptop is still covered by an HP on-site repair warranty, use it. Once the warranty has expired, we'll repair it for you.
My HP printer won't accept non-original cartridges. Can you fix that?
It's the manufacturer's intention, not a fault, and we don't modify firmware. We can advise you on which cartridges work, or repair any other printer fault.
Is it worth repairing a cheap HP printer?
With cheap DeskJets, often not – and we'll tell you straight. With a Smart Tank, OfficeJet or LaserJet, the repair is usually worth it.
My HP laptop won't turn on. What should I try?
Try a different adapter, and hold the power button for 30 seconds with the adapter unplugged. If nothing changes, send it in for diagnostics.
Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?
Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.
How much does diagnostics cost?
If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
