What you should know about Lenovo repairs
ThinkPad: the most repairable laptops
ThinkPads are among the most repairable laptops on the market. Lenovo publishes service manuals and part numbers (FRUs) for them, and the new 2026 T series earned a perfect 10 out of 10 from iFixit. The battery, keyboard, screen and fan can all be replaced without unnecessary disassembly. They're worth repairing even years down the line.
IdeaPad and Yoga: hinges and keyboards
On consumer IdeaPads the hinges often break out of the display cover – the lid then grinds and cracks. The IdeaPad keyboard is usually part of the top case with the palm rest, so the whole part is replaced. You can see the price for your model upfront.
Legion: power and temperatures
Legion gaming laptops are powerful and run hot. A common repair is the power connector (Lenovo's rectangular connector or USB-C), which suffers when the cable gets yanked. A dust-clogged cooling system reduces gaming performance – cleaning and fresh thermal paste will help.
Diagnostics and battery care
The Lenovo Vantage app includes a hardware test (Hardware Scan) and, on IdeaPads and Legions, Conservation Mode, which keeps the charge at around 60%. On ThinkPads you can set your own charging thresholds. If your laptop is mostly plugged in, this will significantly extend the battery's life.
BIOS passwords: what to watch out for
According to Lenovo, a forgotten ThinkPad supervisor password can't be bypassed – the only solution is replacing the motherboard. Likewise, an NVMe drive password can't be reset without losing data. So keep your passwords somewhere safe.

Do you repair ThinkPads for businesses?
Yes, including larger numbers of devices – with pickup from your premises and invoicing to your Company ID (IČO); see our For Business page. FIXERS MSP can manage your entire company IT.
My ThinkPad has an on-site warranty. Should I come to you?
If the warranty is still valid, use it – a Lenovo technician will come to you. Once the warranty has expired, we'll repair your laptop in our workshop with the price agreed in advance.
Is it worth repairing an old ThinkPad?
Usually, yes. ThinkPads are durable and parts are readily available. A new battery and SSD will turn one into a reliable machine for years to come.
How long does a repair take?
Standard repairs usually take 1–3 working days. If a part isn't in stock, it depends on delivery – we'll give you a date in advance.
Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?
Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.
How much does diagnostics cost?
If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
