What you should know about Asus repairs
ROG and liquid metal
ROG gaming laptops come from the factory with liquid metal between the processor and the heatsink instead of standard thermal paste. It conducts heat better, but if handled incorrectly it can leak and damage the motherboard. Replacing liquid metal therefore requires careful insulation around the chip, and standard paste is not used in its place. We only touch it when temperatures indicate a problem.
VivoBook: hinges
On VivoBooks the hinge mounts in the display cover come loose fairly often – the lid creaks, cracks and eventually the hinge breaks out. It's best to come in at the first signs, as the repair is cheaper then.
MyASUS: diagnostics and battery
In the MyASUS app you can run system diagnostics (battery, fan, slow start-up, blue screen). The Battery Health Charging feature offers Balanced mode (charging to 80%) and Maximum Lifespan mode (to 60%). If your laptop is always plugged in, we recommend using one of them.
Repairability
According to the US PIRG 2026 repairability ratings, Asus has the best score among laptop manufacturers. On ZenBooks and slim models, however, the memory is often soldered to the board. Before any repair, we'll always tell you what can and can't be replaced.

Do you replace the liquid metal in ROG laptops?
Yes, when it's needed. During routine cleaning we leave it in place if temperatures are normal. We'll always tell you what we've done.
Do you repair Asus phones?

Is it worth repairing a budget VivoBook?
A hinge or battery repair usually is. For expensive motherboard repairs, we'll tell you whether it's worth it compared with buying a new laptop.
How long does a repair take?
Standard repairs usually take 1–3 working days; if a part needs ordering, it depends on its delivery.
Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?
Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.
How much does diagnostics cost?
If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
