What you should know about PlayStation repairs
Overheating and liquid metal
The PS5 cools its processor with liquid metal. On some consoles, this shifts and oxidises over the years, so temperatures rise and the console shuts down or gets stuck on a blue light with no picture. When we service it, we clean the cooling system and measure the temperatures first. We only replace the liquid metal when it's really needed.
A blue light doesn't always mean the motherboard
The console also checks the disc drive when it starts up. Loose disc drive screws can therefore cause a blue light and an endless restart loop, even if the motherboard is fine. Our diagnostics start with the simplest causes, so you don't pay for an unnecessarily expensive repair.
Detachable disc drive on the PS5 Slim and Pro
The disc drive for the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro pairs with the console over the internet. After the disc drive is repaired or replaced, you need to connect the console to the internet once, otherwise discs won't play. After that, it works offline too.
DualSense drift
DualSense sticks use potentiometers, which wear out – with daily gaming, typically within months to years. Replacing the module requires soldering. The DualSense Edge's sticks are replaceable modules, sold separately.
Sony service and warranty
While under warranty, have the fault handled through the seller or Sony's official service (playstation.com/repairs). Sony's warranty excludes any work done outside its authorised service centres. Once the warranty has expired, we'll repair your console with courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia and the price known upfront.
Before sending
Before you send us your device
- 1Your saved games are in the PlayStation Plus cloud, or you can back them up to a USB drive.
- 2Send the console with no disc in the drive, packed so that it can't move around in the box.
- 3If the problem is with charging, send the controller along with its USB-C cable.

Will I lose my games and saved progress?
No, an HDMI port repair, a clean or a controller repair doesn't touch the storage. Your games and saves stay just as they are.
Opravíte PS VR2 po slunci?
Direct sunlight through the lenses burns the display permanently – the only fix is a display replacement. So always store your headset out of the sun.
Do you replace the HDMI port on the PS5 Slim and Pro too?
Yes, on all versions of the PS5 and PS4. During the repair, we also check the chip that sends the picture to the port.
How long does a repair take?
Usually 1–3 working days. We'll confirm the date once we've received your console.
Is courier pickup from anywhere in Czechia really free?
Yes. We collect your device and send it back to you free of charge. You only pay for diagnostics (890 CZK) if the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair.
How much does diagnostics cost?
If we carry out the repair, diagnostics is free. If the device can't be repaired or you decline the repair, we charge 890 CZK for the time we've spent on it.
